I’ve just got back from a week of sampling in our factory in India. The week was spent checking the final details for SS12 which is currently in production and working on AW12 up to Christmas.
We’ve worked with the same factory since we started manufacturing lingerie. We originally chose to work with them as they were the only manufacturer who had been making circle stitch bullet bras since the ’70s. We figured with 30 years experience (now 40 years!) we couldn’t go wrong.
As the factory is small we’re able to spend time recreating vintage stitching techniques that you won’t find on mass produced lingerie - like the lattice stitch you can just see on the centre seam in the fourth picture. It was commonly used in the ’40s and ’50s on shapewear and unfortunately our factory sold the machine that did it 25 years ago - luckily we were able to recreate the stitch using an alternative machine.
